This policy explains what information the Servicebook and Servicebook Provider mobile apps (the “Apps”) collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to both consumers who book services and providers who fulfil them.
We only collect information needed to create your account, connect consumers with providers, and complete bookings.
| Category | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account & profile | Name, email address, phone number, service address, and (optionally) a profile photo | Create and secure your account, and let the other party recognise and reach you for a booking |
| Authentication | Email address and a one-time password (OTP) sent to it | Verify it’s you when you sign in — we do not use traditional stored passwords |
| Booking data | Service type, schedule, service address/notes, status history, and messages tied to a booking | Create, track, and complete the service you requested |
| Location | Approximate and precise device location (see Section 3) | Match nearby providers and show a provider’s live progress toward a job |
| Payment references | UPI ID / payment app reference and payment confirmation status (see Section 5) | Reconcile the platform fee and record that a booking was paid |
| Reviews & referrals | Ratings, review text, favourites, and referral codes you use or share | Maintain trust signals and run the referral programme |
| Device & notification | Push notification token, app version, device/OS type, and basic diagnostic logs | Deliver notifications, keep the app working, and diagnose problems |
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Both Apps may request approximate (coarse) and precise (fine) location, and only while you are using the app:
Location access is only used in the foreground for the purposes above. We do not track your location in the background for advertising or profiling. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; some features (like live tracking and nearby matching) will then be limited.
Servicebook uses a manual payment confirmation model. We do not process card payments in-app and we do not store card numbers or bank credentials.
Any payment you make through a third-party payment app (e.g. a UPI app) is handled by that app under its own privacy policy; we only receive a reference and confirmation status.
With your permission, we send push notifications for booking updates and account activity via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Notifications are routing hints only — the Apps always re-fetch the latest booking before showing you any action. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Booking, payment-reconciliation, and review records may be retained longer where required for legitimate business, accounting, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
On a verified request we delete your profile and personal data, subject to records we are legally required to retain (for example, financial or tax records), which we keep only as long as the law requires and then delete. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days.
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, OTP-based sign-in instead of stored passwords, and careful handling of secrets. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
The Apps are intended for users aged 18 and over and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at lxmkntgswami@gmail.com. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice in the Apps. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
